Activities and purpose

The project

Winter tourism in rural Alpine regions is a key economic factor and source of employment. The WinHealth project seeks to sustainably enhance healthy and cultural tourism in the Alpine area during the winter period by addressing the increasing pressure of adaptation and diversification due to climate change and changing tourist demands. During the project, some partners conducted scientific and medical studies discovering the benefits associated with winter health tourism, especially for those with asthma or allergies. After analyzing the benefits, innovative tourism packages were created and new target groups identified, with a view to strengthening cross-border tourism knowledge and innovation capacity, developing value chains and innovative business models.
