Terra Raetica in bloom

Activities and purpose

The project

Within the framework of the small Interreg project “Terra Raetica in bloom”, the Val Venosta District Community, as the applicant, and the Municipality of Landeck, as the project partner, implemented measures in 2022 and 2023 to promote biodiversity in public areas. The goal was the creation and maintenance of flower strips for insects and beneficial organisms in various municipalities of Val Venosta and the Landeck district. The focus was on workshops and training courses for municipal service employees regarding the correct creation and maintenance of green areas, as well as information events for the population to raise awareness about natural green care. A joint excursion to Prutz and the Kaunergrat Nature Park promoted technical exchange and the creation of networks between the involved municipalities. The project made an important contribution to biodiversity conservation and cross-border cooperation in the Terra Raetica region.
