Activities and purpose

The project

The project SPARE aims to develop applied research capacities for the holistic valorisation of hemp and to promote the effective transfer of knowledge and technologies to enterprises, generating added value from sustainable agricultural resources.
The partnership, composed of three research organisations with complementary expertise and two entities with a strong potential for multiplying and disseminating results, will identify replicable applications for the sustainable use of hemp and its components and ingredients, in line with the potential of the cross-border area. These applications will be at the core of new value chains, promoted through pilot experiments and prototyping activities.
Through the project, SPARE will contribute to the development of the circular economy in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto, Carinthia and Tyrol, while also raising awareness among stakeholders on these strategic topics.
