Activities and purpose

The project

The project aims to accelerate the transfer of advanced technologies and innovative approaches for climate-friendly and resource-efficient construction, thereby equipping the construction sector, which is directly and indirectly responsible for more than one-third of global CO₂ emissions, with tools that support the objectives of the European Green Deal. The project focuses on the central and south-eastern Alpine region and examines the opportunities offered by existing modern technologies and advanced approaches for the design, construction, renovation and upscaling of buildings from an environmental perspective. It analyses existing barriers of various kinds, including legal, practical and economic obstacles, and develops innovative solutions to overcome them.

In addition, the project will develop comparative examples of climate-friendly building design, both at the conceptual level and through demonstration activities, with the aim of producing a set of recommendations and procedures for environmentally sustainable construction. Finally, courses and seminars will be developed for students, practitioners and other relevant stakeholders in order to further promote knowledge transfer and the uptake of innovative solutions in the construction sector.
