Activities and purpose

The project

The Re-Cereal project is a supraregional research project between the regions of Carinthia (Austria), South Tyrol (Italy) and Friuli-Venezia-Giulia (Italy). As the name suggests, this project focuses on cereals, more specifically oats, buckwheat and millet. Re-Cereal aims to optimize their cultivation methods, as well as their processing, the development of analytical methods for quality determination, and the improvement of their use. This includes diet foods and traditional products such as bread, cakes or even gluten-free products.
