Activities and purpose

The project

Nature should be accessible to everyone, regardless of physical or language barriers and personal disabilities. This is why the GATE (Granting Accessible Tourism for Everyone) project set itself the task of establishing inclusive tourism in the Alps and Pre-Alps. With the help of new technologies, among other things, the Geoparc Bletterbach has been made accessible to people with walking difficulties through virtual reality and a hike accessible via app. Moreover a tactile map and a multimedia guided tour with accounts of the historic garden has been created in Rossi Park, featuring audio and video and even sign language options. A website has also been created in Salzburg showing easy trails and attractions for young children, some of which are also suitable for strollers.
