Second Call: Evaluation Started

1 min

The 29 cross-border projects in the fields of climate change, tourism and the reduction of cross-border obstacles are awaiting approval.

Project applications reflect the diversity and potential of the programme area and cover a wide range of topics important for the development of the cross-border region. Most projects (14) were submitted under Priority 2 “Climate Change and Biodiversity”, followed by Priority 3 “Sustainable Tourism and Cultural Tourism” with 11 projects and Priority 5 “Removing Cross-Border Barriers” with 4 projects. The projects were submitted by various stakeholders, such as companies, cooperatives, public or private bodies, local authorities, associations or research institutes. A total of 130 partners were involved in the projects, of which 21 were from Bolzano, 29 were from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, 21 were from Carinthia, 10 were from Salzburg, 13 were from Tyrol and 36 were from Veneto.

Projects are evaluated according to a two-stage procedure, including a formal authorisation assessment and a strategic-operational assessment. Account is taken of the expected impact of the projects on the programme area and their contribution to the specific objectives of the programme. The Joint Secretariat is assisted in the evaluation by the Regional Coordination Units and, if necessary, by external experts. The approval of projects by the Management Committee will be announced in November.
