Projects of the 3rd call selected
The Steering Committee, which met on 28 and 29 January 2026 in Neustift, agreed to finance 26 cross-border cooperation projects.
Within the framework of the 3rd and final call for project proposals, open from 25 March to 1 July 2025, a total of 52 projects were submitted. For this purpose, projects could be submitted under Priorities 1 “Innovation and Enterprises”, 2 “Climate Change and Biodiversity”, 3 “Sustainable and Cultural Tourism”, and 5 “Reduction of Cross-Border Obstacles”, with a total budget of 16.5 million euros in ERDF funds. In total, a funding volume of approximately 33 million euros was requested. Most funding applications were submitted under Priority 1, totaling 26 projects.
Following a thorough review, the cross-border Steering Committee finally decided on the evaluation ranking and approved the funding of 28 cooperation projects, of which 8 are in Priority 1, 14 in Priority 2, 1 in Priority 3, and 3 in Priority 5. Due to the high level of interest and the high scores achieved in Priority 1, a portion of the available funds (residual funds) was reallocated to this priority. As a result, it is expected that additional projects can be financed using these residual funds.
On the Programme website the final evaluation ranking is available. The subsidy contracts with the beneficiaries of the approved projects are expected to be signed by the end of March 2026. A seminar for Lead Partners and project partners will take place on 23 March 2026. There will be no further calls in this programming period. The work of the new Task Force for the upcoming Interreg Italy-Austria VII 2028-2034 programme will already begin on 29 April 2026.
