New Cooperation Projects Selected
On November 6th and 7th, the Steering Committee of the Interreg VI-A Italy-Austria Program met at the Mercantile Building in Bolzano.
This committee is responsible for selecting projects within the program. As part of the second call for project submissions from February to May 2024, a total of 29 projects were presented. On behalf of the Monitoring Committee, the expert group recommended the funding of 25 cross-border cooperation projects.
The Steering Committee consists of representatives from the program regions, the European Commission, the two member states, as well as the socio-economic partnership network. The chairmanship of the committee is held by the managing authority. The main task of the Steering Committee is to evaluate and select eligible projects. During the two-day meeting, the committee members reviewed and assessed the proposed ranking list, which was prepared by the Joint Secretariat following the conclusion of the second call for project proposals. The proposed ranking list included a qualitative assessment of 29 projects. After thorough review, the Steering Committee decided to fund 25 cooperation projects in the priority areas of “Climate Change and Biodiversity,” “Sustainable and Cultural Tourism,” and “Reduction of Cross-Border Barriers.”
The decisions made by the committee will be formalized by the managing authority in the coming weeks. Subsequently, the lead partners of the submitted projects will be informed of the decision in writing, and the ranking of the projects will be published on www.interreg.net.
