Macro-regional & Sea Basin Strategies Days
Help shape the future of European cooperation!
On 24 and 25 September 2025, the successful EU Macro-regional & Sea Basin Strategies Days are returning to Brussels. Jointly organised by DG REGIO and DG MARE, this two-day event at AREA 42 will be the central forum for all eight strategies (Alpine, Danube, Adriatic-Ionian, Baltic Sea, Atlantic, Western Mediterranean, Black Sea, and Greater North Sea).
In an era of profound global change, the priorities of the European Union are also evolving. Strengthening competitiveness, building a more resilient defence, and the geostrategic importance of EU enlargement are shaping the agenda. With their flexibility and cross-cutting approach, the macro-regional and sea basin strategies are well-suited to respond to these challenges and address the needs of local communities.
The Strategies Days 2025 offer a dynamic platform, bringing together decision-makers from participating countries, coordinators, stakeholders, presidencies, and representatives of the EU institutions to discuss key topics. In workshops and panel discussions, new synergies can be explored, solutions can be jointly developed, and space for future cooperation can be created.
Exchange and networking are central to this event. Proven formats like the “Speed-Dating with the Commission” will facilitate direct exchange, while a special “Cross-strategy Fertilisation Session” will be organised to promote cross-strategy learning and identify potential for joint initiatives and projects.
Be there and actively shape the future of European cooperation!
Registration has been open since 16 June 2025.
